Zhovhe Dam - Matebeleland South

Zhovhe Dam is a reservoir on the Mzingwane River, with a capacity of 133 million cubic metres. Situated just 80km North West of Beitbridge Town, the dam is an agritourist site as it supplies water for commercial irrigation of 2500 hectares of land under citrus production in the area. The citrus production is for export to Kuwait and benefits more than 5000 household making it one of the most powerful community-based tourism in the region. Well-known activities at Zhove are boat cruising, fishing and game drives. The dam also hosts a 30 roomed lodge that accommodates up to 100 people. The Lodge is suitable for group travel, conferencing and other private functions
