The National Heroes Acre

Did you know that Zimbabwe that the Heroes Acre, is situated seven kilometres from the Harare CBD, along the Bulawayo Road, the National Heroes Acre was established in 1980 with the purpose of honouring Zimbabweans who died within and outside the country whilst fighting for the country`s independence.

The ZTA is encouraging all Zimbabweans to appreciate our history and heritage by taking a 1 hour 30 minutes tour of The National Heroes’ Acre which is easily accessible and open to the public. Interesting features include the tomb of the unknown soldiers symbolising unknown soldiers who perished during the liberation struggle and a museum rich in Zimbabwean history.




The monument is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm except Sundays. When travel resumes, we encourage all Zimbabweans to take a tour of the National Heroes of Zimbabwe to understand more the History of Zimbabwe. Admission is 3USD for adults and 2USD for kids.
