Manicaland Provincial CookOut Competitions

Today we are in the Manicaland Province at Mutare Teachers College where we continue to showcase Amai’s Traditional Cookout Competition. A taste of Manicaland, #Kumakomoyo!Chefs in Manicaland out doing themselves at Amai’s Traditional Cook-out competition as they exhibit their artistic culinary skills. The Deputy Minister of Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Zimbabwe Hon. Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of integrating traditional foods in restaurants, hotels & at social gatherings. This approach aims to enhance gastronomy tourism, nurturing our culture whilst promoting local culinary heritage.

Shingirai Zisengwe Manica Skyview Manicaland School of Hospitality is the First Prize winner of the Professional Chefs category.She is elated to be the winner of this competition and sees herself as a Rural Tourism entrepreneur where she will continue to promote Zimbabwean Gastronomy in the near future. Meanwhile she is also the winner of the Tourism Innovation Challenge for Manicaland.

Permanent Secretary for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr Abiot Maronge spoke on  how local food is ideal for Zimbabweans as it grows favorably in this climate hence should be promoted among the locals and foreigners alike.
