Gwenhoro Dam - Midlands
Located on the Runde River, 35 kilometres south-east of Gweru, Gwenhoro Dam with a capacity of 29 thousand mega litres supply the city of Gweru with water for agricultural, industrial and domestic use. The name Gwenhoro is derived from a wild animal (Nhoro) found in the area which means a ‘place inhabited by Nhoro’. The area is very beautiful and picturesque. The dam is full from January to June. Travelers can enjoy the tranquil environment, hop on a canoe or a boat, glide and fishing. For all meat lover’s braai facilities are available.
