This wonderful Escorted Small Group Tour of Zimbabwe showcases the highlights of this beautiful country. Zimbabwe offers an outstanding variety of natural beauty and spectacular scenery. The country holds great appeal for adventurous travellers, outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife admirers.

From the majesty of the famous Victoria Falls to the giant marble-like boulders of the Matopo Hills, the verdant mountains of the Eastern Highlands and the national parks teeming with wildlife to the Great Zimbabwe ancient ruins.

Day 1: Departure

Depart from your country of origin, we can arrange international flights for you if you wish. Depending on the time of arrival into Zimbabwe, you may require an overnight hotel which we can arrange for you.

Day 2: Arrive Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

You will be met on arrival at Bulawayo and transferred to your hotel to freshen up. Enjoy an afternoon historical tour of the wide tree-lined avenues, parks and charming colonial architecture of the attractive city of Bulawayo. The evening is at leisure.

Day 3: Bulawayo – Masvingo (B,D)

This morning visit the National Art Gallery and Railway Museum and return to the hotel for lunch (not included). After lunch depart for Masvingo (Ancient City at Great Zimbabwe), stopping en-route at Lake Mutirikwi and the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, Africa’s most important and largest ruins. Continue to your lodge for overnight.

Day 4: Great Zimbabwe Ruins (B,L,D)

After breakfast return to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins where an experienced guide will take you on a three hour tour through the large towers and structures built out of millions of stones, perfectly balanced on top of each other. Continue to the museum before returning to your lodge.

Day 5: Great Zimbabwe – Gweru National Park (B,L,D)

After breakfast, depart for Gweru where an expert historical guide will take you through the ancient capital of Zimbabwe. Continue to the Antelope Park Game Reserve, set in over 3000 acres of open savannah grassland. This unique game reserve is a haven of tranquillity; walk with lions, ride through the wilderness on elephant or horseback, view the abundance of wildlife in the park or canoe on the scenic lake.

Day 6: Antelope Park (B,L,D)

Your day is at leisure, you may wish to try some of the optional activities. How about an Elephant safari, horse ride or spend some time interacting with the small Lion cubs.

Day 7: Antelope Park – Matopos National Park (B,L,D)

Set off after breakfast for the remarkable Matopo Hills National Park where you can choose between a host of activities including rhino tracking on foot, game drives in the park, or walk to the numerous rock formations where there are some excellent examples of cave paintings.

Day 8: Matopos National Park (B,L,D)

Today visit the fascinating rock art and famous ‘View of the World’ where Cecil Rhodes is buried. Continue to the Western side of the park and the Whovi Game Area where 50 mammal species can be found including Sable, Rhino, Giraffe, Hippo, Crocodile and possibly the world’s greatest concentration of Leopard.

Day 9: Matopos – Hwange National Park (B,L,D)

Depart this morning for Hwange, Zimbabwe’s most famous National Park. Your small intimate lodge has only 7 rooms all commanding great views of a private and extremely active waterhole. Known as ‘place of elephants’ expect to see herds of elephants here.

Day 10: Hwange National Park (B,L,D)

Today enjoy a sunrise and sunset game drive exploring Hwange National Park. Great herds of elephants can be found with Hwange being renownend for its ‘huge tuskers’, the big old bulls with magnificent tusks. Hwange boasts a tremendous selection of wildlife with over 100 species of mammals including big cats, herds of buffalo and plains game and nearly 400 recorded bird species.

Day 11: Hwange – Victoria Falls (B)

Today visit the splendour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. At 1708 metres (5604 ft) wide, it is the largest curtain of water in the world and drops 103 metres (338 ft) into the basalt depths of the sheer Zabezi Gorge. Enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River this evening, where you can relax with a sundowner and take in the view!

Day 12: Victoria Falls (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the Falls. Visit the spectacular Devil’s Cataract, Main Falls as well as the Horseshoe Falls. Continue to a traditional village where you have the option to purchase local handicrafts. Return to your hotel where you can relax or partake in one of the optional activities such as white water rafting, a helicopter flight, bungy jumping or zip lining.

Day 13: Victoria Falls (B)

Day at leisure to explore or relax by the pool. In the early evening, enjoy a Sunset Cruise down the mighty Zambezi River. This Sundowner Cruise is a wonderful way to see the beauty and wildlife and is also a photographer’s dream! Expect to see Hippo, Crocodiles, numerous bird life and of course a stunning view of the spray rising high over the river.

Day 14: Departure (B)

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
