ONE of the major music parties to grace this year’s Harare International Carnival is the Carnival Dancehall night which will bring together the cream of Zimbabwe’s dancehall stars. The dancehall musical extravaganza is slated for 24 May at the
Harare Gardens and features among others, Winky D, Dhadza D, Soul Jah Love, King Shaddy, Killer T, SehCalaz, Kinna, Lady Squanda, and Shinsoman.
Chipaz Promotions, a promotion company which has been a force in the marketing of live dancehall showcases in and around Harare will coordinate the musical. With dancehall on the rise in Zimbabwe and proving to be the most popular genre at the moment, he massive gig will also expose Zimbabwean dancehall artistes to international audiences. Partson ‘Chipaz’ Cimbodza, the dancehall night coordinator believes local dancehall is a genre with a lot of followers countrywide.
Carnival Dancehall will cater for all the ghetto youths.
