This year’s edition of the Harare International Carnival which is slated for May 16 to 25 will feature various activities, with the main thrust being tourism promotion. In light of that, a new flavour has been added in the form of a refreshing treat for
reggae lovers on May 18.
The event has been dubbed the Carribean Night and the local hub of reggae music, Red Fox, will be hosting it. Red Fox spokesperson Robert Zhuwao confirmed the event. “Yes, I can confirm that we will be hosting the Carribean Night that will be held during the Harare International Carnival.
“Brazilian samba dancers will also feature and as you know, Red Fox has always been the hub for Carribean music for a long time now, it was only natural for us to jump for that offer to host such a prestigious event. “It also goes a long way in complementing efforts put by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, (ZTA)” said Zhuwao.
Meanwhile, the ZTA revealed that a record 21 countries from around the globe have confirmed their participation in this year’s Harare International Carnival. The 2013 edition was a major success and it saw tourism players like hotels, nightclubs, restaurants and resort towns immensley benefitting through theinflux of tourists into the country.
