About Chishakwe Camp – Save Valley
“Chishakwe is tucked away in the remote recesses of the Save Valley Conservancy in the South East Lowveld.” This privately owned and managed property is home to a plethora of plant, bird and animal life. Situated on the banks of the Msaize River this small, exclusive camp offers visitors every comfort and the service in a tranquil environment that allows guests to
experience the daily nuances and occasional dramas of the surrounding African bush. Accommodation is in five thatched chalets each with two ¾ size beds with en-suite shower, basin and toilet facilities. All chalets have a view over the river and into the bush on the other side. A watering hole on the far side of the river attracts game to the area so that visitors can enjoy game viewing even from within the camp.
The cuisine is simple and home made with a slightly modern twist. The tallest recorded baobab in the world is situated on this property. The centrally placed swimming pool is designed to be cool even on the hottest Lowveld day. There is always a lot to do at Chishakwe, game drives, horse rides, sitting at hides, canoeing, boating, fishing and outside excursions are all available. Or get a bird’s eye view during a short ‘aero safari’. Request a special bonfire outing to Moon Rock where you can watch the sunset on one side and the moon rise on the other.
